MrBeast marries Thea Booysen in July 2026; YouTube creator’s wedding costs dwarf typical influencer brand deals
YouTube creator MrBeast married Thea Booysen in July 2026 at a private island resort. The week-long event, orchestrated by celebrity planner Marcy Blum, reflects the financial scale of top-tier creator earnings.
Jimmy Donaldson, operating under the YouTube brand MrBeast with 508 million followers, married content creator Thea Booysen in July 2026 at a private 74-acre island resort. The week-long event, which ran from July 14 through July 21, involved celebrity event planner Marcy Blum orchestrating the logistics.
Donaldson wore a Ralph Lauren tuxedo; Booysen wore a custom gown by Nicole + Felicia Couture. The reception included a feast of sushi, fish, and wagyu beef, followed by a carrot wedding cake. Guest activities ranged from snorkelling and kangaroo feeding to kitesurfing. Donaldson announced the marriage via Instagram on July 21 with the caption: "I found MrsBeast. And it was the best day of my life."
The couple met in 2022 in South Africa through a mutual friend, later connecting via X (formerly Twitter) and making their public debut at the Kids' Choice Awards in April 2022. Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day 2024.
Booysen told People magazine the week-long celebration, while "a formality," served the couple's desire to gather dispersed friends and family. She noted they plan annual week-long gatherings going forward. Booysen added that Donaldson "really went out of his way to make all the guests super comfortable and feel included."
The wedding's scale underscores the financial magnitude of YouTube creator economics. A seven-figure spend on a single event—a cost that would represent a material expense for most consumer brands—registers as a lifestyle choice for creators commanding Donaldson's reach. The event itself did not disclose a budget, but the logistics (island resort rental, catering for guests spanning multiple days, celebrity event planner coordination, and bespoke clothing) align with high-net-worth individual wedding conventions rather than typical creator-focused celebrations.
